Richard "Dick" Monfort

Richard "Dick" Monfort is a 1976 graduate of the University of Northern Colorado, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management. He has since been a strong supporter of not only the University, but the Monfort College of Business, the state of Colorado, industry and higher education overall.

Dick spent 25 years in the cattle business, serving as President of Monfort of Colorado Inc., then as President and CEO of ConAgra Red Meats before retiring in 1995 when he launched the Montera Cattle Company in 1996. He is Owner/Chairman and CEO of the Colorado Rockies Baseball Club, Owner of the Hyatt Regency Indian Wells Resort in California and Hilltop Steak House in Boston.

Dick plays an essential leadership role on numerous public and philanthropic boards. He serves as Chairman of the Colorado Economic Development Commission, Chairman of the University of Northern Colorado Board of Trustees, Chairman of the Board of Directors of University of Colorado Health and is a member of the Monfort College of Business Dean's Leadership Council.
