The Monfort College of Business is proud to award nearly $1,000,000 of scholarships annually to business students at UNC. 


How to Apply

This platform enables you to submit scholarship applications offered by the UNC Foundation. Access the application via the "Financial Aid" tab on Ursa. Please note that a Bear number is required for the application process.

  • General MCB Scholarships
    The Carroll Gilbert Scholarship $8,550.00 Full amount awarded to 1 applicant The Carroll Gilbert Scholarship is awarded to students majoring in business. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a full- time student; majoring in a field of business; a cumulative GPA of 3.0+; a junior or senior; and demonstrate financial need.
    The Dr. Patrick Sullivan Memorial Scholarship $900.00 Split between selected applicants The Dr. Patrick Sullivan Memorial Scholarship is awarded to full-time students with a declared major within the Monfort College of Business. To qualify for the opportunity the applicant must be a full-time student with a declared major within the Monfort College of Business; have a cumulative GPA of 3.75+; be a junior and senior; graduated from a high school located within Weld County, CO; and possess exceptional academic and leadership potential. Preference will be given to students involved with academic extracurricular activities within the Monfort College of Business.
    The Finley-Ledall Scholarship $5,000.00 Full amount awarded to multiple selected applicants The Finley-Ledall Scholars is awarded to business students. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a business major that demonstrates academic merit and talent. This scholarship is renewable. 
    The FirstBank Scholarship  $10,000.00 Split between selected applicants The FirstBank Scholarship is awarded to students with a major in the Monfort College of Business. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a student with a major in the Monfort College of Business and be 150% Pell Grant eligible.
    The Frank and Catherine Sloan Scholarship $2,500.00 Full amount awarded to 1 applicant The Frank and Catherine Sloan Scholarship is awarded to students with a declared major in the Monfort College of Business. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a student with a declared major in the Monfort College of Business and demonstrate financial need.
    The George E. Vosmera Memorial Scholarship $4,800.00 Full amount awarded to 1 applicant The George E. Vosmera Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a qualifying business major, with demonstrated financial need, and in good standing.
    The Harry Trueblood Scholarship $3,000.00 Full amount awarded to 1 applicant The Harry Trueblood Scholarship is awarded to students in the School of Business. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must also be a U.S. Citizen. This opportunity is based on merit.
    The Howard E. and Marjory M. Smith Scholarship $3,325.00 Split between selected applicants The Howard E. and Marjory M. Smith Scholarship is awarded to Business students. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be an undergraduate student; completed 30+ hours at UNC; admitted into the College of Business; a cumulative GPA of 3.0+; and demonstrate financial need.
    The Jason Gammel Undergraduate in Business Scholarship $1,750.00 Full amount awarded to 1 applicant The Jason Gammel Undergraduate in Business Scholarship is awarded to business students. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a business major; have a cumulative GPA of 3.0+; and demonstrate financial need.
    The Kenneth J. and Beatrice E. Hansen Scholarship $11,725.00 Split between selected applicants The Kenneth J. and Beatrice E. Hansen Scholarship is awarded to students majoring in business. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a full-time student; majoring in business; with a cumulative GPA of 3.0+; a junior or senior; and be enrolled at UNC for one year prior to receiving the award.
    The McArthur Scholarship Award (Business) $1,900.00 Split between selected applicants The McArthur Scholarship Award (business) is awarded to business majors. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a full-time undergraduate student; in good standing with the University and a Colorado resident. This opportunity is based on talent, future promise and demonstrated ability.
    The Nyla McNatt Penland Business Award  $2,250.00 Split between selected applicants The Nyla McNatt Penland Business Award is awarded to students majoring in a business related field. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be majoring in a business related field; with good academic standing; a junior or senior; and demonstrate financial need.
    The Pathway to Excellence Scholarship $850.00 Full amount awarded to 1 applicant The Pathway to Excellence Scholarship is awarded to business students. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a full-time student; a business major; and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0+.
    The Paul and Vada Good Family Scholarship $17,825.00 Split between selected applicants The Paul and Vada Good Family Scholarship is awarded to qualifying students that are a resident of Colorado. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must have a cumulative GPA between 2.2 and 2.99; demonstrate financial need; and be a resident of Colorado. Preference to students majoring in business or seeking business and from Greeley, Colorado. Preference for recipients that are not receiving other scholarships or grants.
    The PDC Energy Scholarship $5,000.00 Split between selected applicants The PDC Energy Scholarship is awarded to students that have an interest in the oil and gas industry. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be majoring in Business or seeking a degree in the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences, with preference given to Geology majors; be a junior or senior student; and, be a non-traditional or first generation student, or demonstrate financial need. Preference for recipients to have an interest in the oil and gas industry. If internships are available, the Donor intends to consider recipients for an internship opportunity at the Donor’s place of business. If agreed upon by the student, the Donor is able to feature the student recipient(s) in a community impact publication or similar promotional material(s).
    The Phelps Family Aims2UNC Business CAP Scholarship $7,000.00 Full amount awarded to 1 applicant The Phelps Family Aims2UNC Business CAP Scholarship is awarded to an upper division undergraduate student majoring in Business Administration who transferred from Aims Community College. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a full-time student who is a citizen of the United States or Permanent Resident or has DACA or ASSET status; must be accepted and enrolled as a Business Administration major with any area of emphasis; have junior or senior academic status or completed a minimum of sixty (60) transferable credits to the University when the CAP Scholarship is to be applied to the student’s account; demonstrate financial need as determined by the University; must be a student transferring from Aims Community College in Greeley, Colorado; not be a dependent of a UNC employee; and have at least two semesters remaining before expected graduation date. Recipient must submit, before fall semester starts, a brief essay (about 500 words) that addresses: “To what extent do the values of Contribute, Achieve, and Pay-it-forward (acronym CAP) describe you?”; must make a written commitment to the University upon acceptance of the CAP Scholarship, to enhance their personal financial literacy by registering for and completing a college-level personal finance course, such as the University’s BAFN 240 course, before their senior academic year begins; and must complete a brief biography to be shared with the Donors or their representatives by the end of September of the fall semester when the CAP Scholarship is first applied to the recipient’s student account.
    The Ray Heimerl Scholarship Award $425.00 Full amount awarded to 1 applicant The Ray Heimerl Scholarship Award is awarded to general business majors. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a full-time student; majoring in general business; a senior; involved in extracurricular activities at UNC or in the community; and demonstrate a positive attitude and a good academic record.
    The Richard and Elaine Sandblade Scholarship $800.00 Full amount awarded to 1 applicant The Richard and Elaine Sandblade Scholarship is awarded to students enrolled in the Monfort College of Business. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be enrolled in the Monfort College of Business; have a cumulative GPA of 3.0+; a junior or senior; have completed at least one semester at UNC; and is at least 30 years of age.
    The Group Inc., Jackie Calhoon Legacy  $725.00 Full amount awarded to 1 applicant The Group Inc., Jackie Calhoon Legacy is awarded to graduates of a Weld or Larimer County high school. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be majoring in business, with an interest in real estate; with a cumulative GPA of 3.0+; and has completed 60+ credit hours.
    The Ron Orland Family Scholarship $1,000.00 Full amount awarded to 1 applicant The Ron Orland Family Scholarship is awarded to students in the Monfort College of Business.
    The Wells Fargo Bank Scholarship $187,800 total, $3000 each Split between multiple selected applicants - $3,000 each The Wells Fargo Bank Scholarship is awarded to a business student. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a full-time student; with a declared major in the School of Business; a junior or senior; and demonstrate need, promise, ability, and talent.
    The William S. Garnsey, III Scholarship – MCB $3,275.00 Full amount awarded to 1 applicant The William S. Garnsey, III Scholarship – MCB is awarded to students in the Monfort College of Business (MCB) who are members of a University republican group. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0+; and be admitted to MCB. The applicant must also be a member of a University republican group (or a student chartered group that exhibits conservative values, knowledge and understanding of American history; strong moral and ethical behavior).
    The Winograd Scholarship $1,125.00 Full amount awarded to 1 applicant The Winograd Scholarship for the College of Business Administration is awarded to business students. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a full-time undergraduate student; majoring in business; with a cumulative GPA of 3.0+; and demonstrate financial need promise, ability and performance.
  • Accounting Scholarships
    The Wipfli Accounting Scholarship  Committee's Discretion Committee's Discretion The Wipfli Accounting Scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate student with a major in Accounting. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be an Accounting major and be an undergraduate student.
    The Washabaugh Scholarship $1,500.00 each Awarded to the Beta Alpha President and secretary The Washabaugh Scholarship is awarded to the Beta Alpha Psi president and the Beta Alpha Psi secretary.
    Student Success Top Achievers in Accounting $5,000.00 Split between selected applicants This is a program and scholarship fund that can be used for students who are enrolled in the Accounting program in the Monfort College of Business; MCB intends to use to help increase admit and enrollment numbers, should be given to first time freshmen only, preferred HS GPA 3.50+. This scholarship is renewable.
    The McClintock Accounting Scholarship $18,500.00 Split between selected 2 applicants The McClintock Accounting Scholarship is awarded to the top two undergraduate accounting majors pursuing a master’s degree in accounting at the Monfort College of Business. Awardees are known as a McClintock Fellow.
    The Roland C. and Mary N. Waterman Memorial Scholarship Award  $2,525.00 Full amount awarded to 1 applicant The Roland C. and Mary N. Waterman Memorial Scholarship Award is awarded to Accounting majors. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a full-time student; majoring in accounting; with a high-degree of self motivation and a positive attitude about the accounting profession; and demonstrate financial need. Must show involvement or stated interest in becoming involved in the university and/or community organizations and activities; and a stated interest in entering private accounting.
    The McGee Hearne & Paiz, LLP Accounting Scholarship $1,000.00 Full amount awarded to 1 applicant The McGee Hearne & Paiz, LLP Accounting Scholarship is awarded to an accounting major. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be recommended by the Monfort College of Business; and be an accounting major in good standing.
    The JSW 1992 Accounting Scholarship $2,000.00 Full amount awarded to 1 applicant The JSW 1992 Accounting Scholarship is awarded to accounting majors. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be an accounting major; with 60+ credit hours completed; have a cumulative GPA of 3.0+; and demonstrate merit and commitment to the accounting profession
    The Bill D. and Bonnie E. Cox Accounting Scholarship $2,250.00 Full amount awarded to 1 applicant The Bill D. and Bonnie E. Cox Accounting Scholarship is awarded to students in the Monfort College of Business Accounting program. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a student in the Monfort College of Business Accounting program; have a cumulative GPA of 3.0+; and demonstrate financial need
    Beta Alpha Psi-Professional Accounting $825.00 Full amount awarded to 1 applicant Beta Alpha Psi-Professional Accounting
    The Accounting Department Award $8,000.00 Split between selected applicants The Accounting Department Award qualifications is awarded to students in the Monfort College of Business.
  • Finance Scholarships
    The Zona and Harold Felderman SAFF Scholarship $675.00 Full amount awarded to 1 applicant The Zona and Harold Felderman SAFF Scholarship is awarded to students enrolled in the Monfort College of Business (MCB). To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a member of Student and Foundation Fund (SAFF) class; and enrolled in MCB.
    The Colorado Insurance and Business Education Foundation Investment Scholarship $31,375.00 Split between selected applicants The Colorado Insurance and Business Education Foundation Investment Scholarship is awarded to students majoring in Business with an emphasis in Finance or Risk Management or the future equivalent of such programs. For incoming freshmen, preference is for students that have graduated from a high school in the state of Colorado with a GPA of 3.0+ and have strong entrance exam scores. For all other students, preference is for students who have received the award previously.
  • Management Scholarships
    The Abigail and Alfred Pfeiffer III Scholarship $1,750.00 Full amount awarded to 1 applicant The Abigail and Alfred Pfeiffer III Scholarship is awarded to freshman students with the express intent to major in business management in the Monfort College of Business. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must have the express intent to major in business management; be an academically high achieving graduate of a Colorado high school; be a freshman student; have demonstrated financial need; and, be a First Generation Student. 
    The John A. Damgaard, Jr. Endowment  $7,550.00 Split between selected applicants The John A. Damgaard, Jr. Endowment is awarded to Management majors. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a full-time student; majoring in management; with a cumulative GPA of 3.0+; and be a junior or senior.
