Professional Experience & Career Development Program
The Professional Experience Requirement provides students with the "real world" experience that is integral to success in the business world. During their Professional Experience, students will learn the basic skills and principles expected in an entry-level position. Plus, they will graduate with confidence, knowing they are prepared to enter their professional career with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed.
As a student at the Monfort College of Business, there are two Career Readiness Requirements you need to be aware of: The Career Development Series and the Professional Experience Requirement.
The Career Development Series
All students at the Monfort College of Business are required to attend a Career Development Event each year that they are a student in MCB. These events include: Career Values & Exploration, Career Conversations, Networking Night, and the Job, Internship, & Graduate School Fair.
Professional Experience Requirement
The Professional Experience requirement incorporates three required prerequisite workshops – an informational video, a resumé review, and a mock interview then to complete either an internship for credit or an approved professional experience.
This is required for all MCB students except international students and Software Engineering students. International students should reach out to the Professional Experience Coordinator to complete a waiver.

First-Year

* Sign ups are required in advance, multiple offered each semester.
Junior Year
* Offered once in spring semester
Professional Experience or Internship for Credit

Senior Year
Job, Internship, & Graduate School Fair
* Offered once each semester
If you did not complete a Professional Experience or Internship for Credit during your junior year, you can also do it during your senior year.
