Kenneth W. Monfort
Ken Monfort has been a long-time advocate of the Monfort College of Business in its ongoing efforts to build a tradition of excellence. Prior to his retirement as president of Monfort of Colorado in 1989, Ken was instrumental in securing funding from ConAgra, Inc. The funds were used for completion of the Monfort Classroom-a learning facility that has become the standard in Kepner Hall's high-tech classrooms of the future.
In 1990, Ken and his wife, Myra, established the Monfort Executive Professor Program, which brings national business leaders into the UNC classroom while exposing students to the inner workings of the corporate boardroom. The program was expanded in 1995 to include a Monfort Distinguished Professorship.
Ken Monfort's continued and generous financial support contributed to the attainment of the college's accreditation with the American Assembly of Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) in 1992.
Ken's successful career and his commitment to business excellence will serve as a laudable example for generations of future UNC business students. The College, the University, and the entire Greeley community have prospered from the success and generosity of the Monfort family.
