What is an Elevator Pitch?
An elevator pitch is when you take 30-60 seconds to tell whomever you are speaking with who you are, what makes you unique, and the benefits and value you can provide to them.
Start with a hook to intrigue your listener and finish with a request for action. Answer the questions "tell me about yourself" and "why should I hire you" as you craft your elevator pitch.
Why is an Elevator Pitch so important?
This could be your first impression and the first thing that people ever hear or read about you. It is a very effective way to get your foot in the door for various opportunities, such as internships and job offers, and expand your professional network of colleagues and contacts.
