Professional/Academic Experience

Noah Mercil is a Student Success Coordinator at the Monfort College of Business. He is a first generation college student and University of Wisconsin Superior TRIO McNair Scholar alumwith a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies from the University of Minnesota Duluth.

Noah’s enthusiasm for music, higher education, and equitableinclusion is exemplified by his teaching and research withSudaca (South American) jazz. Noah’s leadership has also been strengthened by coordinating live bands and teaching at Loveland Academy of Music. Noah’s experience and passion also informs his work as a Student Success Coordinator. By guiding students through the rigorous environment of university study, they can discover their own confidence and aptitude for success no matter their background.

In addition to his role at MCB, Noah is a graduate student at UNC’s School of Music pursuing a Master of Music in Jazz Studies with an emphasis on drum set performance and music research.
