A graduate of the University of Northern Colorado’s Monfort College of Business is competing in the 86th Miss America Pageant this week, according to Don Gudmundson, dean of the college. Hannah Porter (Class of 2010, Management) is competing at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas and the pageant will air on ABC Television at 8:00 p.m. MST on Saturday, January 12.
Porter was crowned Miss Colorado 2012 last spring. The public can vote for her to win through Thursday, January 10th at www.missamerica.org/videocontest.
“Hannah was a great student and served as the president of the Management Club,” said Gudmundson. “She continues to be involved with the college as a guest at fundraising and local business events. We are not surprised that she achieved this goal she set for herself and wish her much success in the Miss America pageant, and in all of her future endeavors.”
The Miss America Organization is one of the nation's leading achievement programs and the world's largest provider of scholarship assistance for young women. Last year, the Miss America Organization and its state and local organizations made available more than $45 million in cash and scholarship assistance.
