Alumni, donors, sponsors and friends of the Monfort College of Business at the University of Northern Colorado will have the opportunity to support students scholarships at the college at the third annual All Star Celebration at Coors Field in Denver on Friday, Sept. 7. “This event raises more scholarship funds for our students than any other and has become a tradition of support, giving and fun,” said Dean Don Gudmundson.
This year’s All Star Celebration is scheduled for 6-10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7 at Coors Field. While the focus is on raising student scholarship funds, the event features a casino night, behind-the-scenes tours of Coors Field, interactive games for the whole family, photo opportunities with Dinger, the mascot of the Colorado Rockies, networking opportunities, gourmet ballpark cuisine and beverages, mystery grab bags and a silent auction. “This is the first time we’ve included casino games at the event and we believe it will add even more excitement,” Gudmundson said.
Information about the event is available at www.mcb.unco.edu/allstar. Tickets for adults and children are $75 each and are available at www.uncalumni.org/Events. Those interested in sponsoring the event should contact Deidra Schaeffer at (970) 351-2147 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
“People who attended our first two events at Coors Field keep telling us what a unique experience it was to have the ball park all to themselves,” Gudmundson continued. “Of course the best thing was raising so much for student scholarships in one evening. The funds raised provided funds for scholarships in general business, study abroad and the Masters in Accounting. With reductions in state support for higher education, it’s even more important to get our alumni and community at large to help students get the assistance they need in order to attend college.”
